Encounter Winter Camp 2019

Our world around us moves fast. What would it look like for you to have a pause button? What if you could stop at any moment, and focus on God – to see what he’s seeing and savor the moment?

That sounds so good to me. But at the same time it seems impossible!

With God, all things are possible. Join us this winter as we dig into what it takes to create a pause button in your life.

New for 2019! In addition to each group receiving post-weekend curriculum to help continue the journey, each student will receive a 30-Day Pause Devotional to take home! We want to equip you beyond your camp experience, and we can’t wait to share this goodie with you!

For Jonas Woods the story begins really early for this Rhode Island native, who was classically trained on the violin at the age of five, receiving his first guitar at twelve and writing songs by a young age as well.

Young Jonas was influenced by a wide range of artists—from his biggest musical inspiration James Taylor, to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Cat Stevens, Steven Curtis Chapman, Newsboys, and Switchfoot, among many others. “I’m compelled by my desire to please the Creator, and to make a strong attempt to instill hope, express love and to make people smile. I have no desire to be something special, but to be used in any way that will accomplish the purpose that I’ve been created for.”

Daryl Reininger is an itinerant speaker and a former Student Pastor. He has a real passion to see teenagers understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Daryl’s greatest passion when preaching is to teach the Bible in a way that connects with people and challenges them to surrender everything to Christ.”

RTD started right here at Monadnock, and they are 4 friends who love bringing people to the place where they can freely worship our King Jesus Christ. They always want to point people back to God through music and that all honor and glory would always be Gods and never be robbed from HIM. Their mission is to create a spiritual collision or connection between God and His people through music and His leading.”

Steven Lucas is the Lead Pastor at Life Church in Norton, MA. Steven and his wife, Devonne, met while attending Boston Baptist College where they graduated in 2015. Steven worked as a youth pastor, college director, and then a recruiter for Boston Baptist College before becoming the pastor of Life Church. It was after guest speaking at Life Church while the church was without a pastor when God began tugging at the heart of the Lucas. Seeing the dire need for the Gospel to be shared in the South Shore was all that was needed to convince them to move and begin pouring their lives into the church and the area. Steven is an avid Boston sports fan and an overly competitive pick-up basketball player.

The Ark is our main building, built in 1808 with all the character of an old New England home. It contains the main office, dining rooms, pool, game rooms, and guest rooms are located on three different floors.

Carlson Manor is younger, being built in 1913, with a beautiful wood staircase and unique built-ins. It contains guest rooms on four different floors, including our handicap-accessible rooms.

The Cabins are the young bucks of our housing, and offer a quieter, woodsy lodging with a bathhouse centrally located.

Our chef, Matt Snow, cooks up an amazing spread every weekend from pizza to (gasp!) vegetables.

With prior notice, Matt can accommodate any food allergy or dietary requirements that your students/leaders may have. Please email him at msnow@monadnockbible.org with any needs at least one week prior to your arrival.

Our Snack Shops (both in the Ark and Hillside) serve snacks throughout the afternoons and evenings, with new treats added all the time! Students and leaders alike should bring a little spending money for our terrific fried dough. 😉
